Well it all just about came together for the Dinghy Show. The board with trim tab didn't quite make it due to a software problem (now resolved) and the rudder design was finalised today.
The sails from North went up the mast for the first time on Friday so thanks to Ian, Tim and Toby for getting them there. There were many favourable comments and I think more will appear in the class as the season progresses.
The Mast from Selden looked just great. So thanks Ben. Paul Davies from Harken helped a lot with the fit out. He patiently answered my many silly questions. So thanks for getting me there Paul. Marlow helped with the string so thanks to Paul H for that.
The Spinlock PXRs are superb for the adjustable shrouds and the High Load apps like the kicker and of course having the boat on the Spinlock stand was just superb, so thanks to Jez, James, Jonathan, Simon and Sarah.
Didn't Tim's boat look wonderful? Thanks for bringing it Tim. It was a long old journey, but I know that the Spinlock guys were delighted that you made the effort.
I had such a lot of fun talking to all the 12 sailors who came along and had a look at the boat. I learned a lot, but I'm sure that this going to be a ladder of many steps.Of course Bob and Gavin have built a beautiful light, stiff , carbon boat. David Hollom has redesigned the centreboard and rudder and I can’t wait to get hold of them and get the boat in the water...........
